MICHAEL MUSTO- THOMAS CHAU BEN XAVIER Michael Musto writes the popular entertainment column "La Dolce Musto" in the Village Voice as well as the opinionated blog "La Daily Musto." A regular commentator on MSNBC, Musto's next book--"Fork on the Left, Knife in the Back"--will be published by Vantage Point Books next September. Rich Russo - DJ for "Anything Anything" on major radio stations 107.1 The Peak, NY, and 105.5 WDHA, NJ A true music aficionado and collector, Rich Russo boasts a collection of vinyl and CDs estimated to have reached an astonishing 100,000 pieces. Rich says, “Springsteen’s line from No Surrender says it best, ‘We learned more from a 3 minute record than we ever did in school.’” “Music is the most personal and yet one of the most shared experiences you can have. My listeners share my passion for music and although we may not always have the same musical tastes they trust me to introduce A lifelong Jersey resident, Russo grew up listening to NY and NJ radio and remembers how the DJs were almost as big as the music they played. Rich believes that DJs today need an identity and must go beyond the pressures of playing only what research dictates or what the record labels are pitching. ‘Anything Anything’ goes deep and finds great new music for its listeners. Rich has the kind of creative freedom that is unrivaled in major market radio today. Working without the constraints of a playlist, Rich has 100% control of the music he plays and has successfully developed a free form show that is gutsy and raw. Russo is admired for being highly opinionated and not afraid to share his thoughts. As you listen to his show every week, you’ll know what his feelings are towards musical trends, events and life in general. He monitors a message board to give his listeners a chance to discuss a wide array of topics. It all ties in to Rich Russo’s philosophy about music being a very shared experience. Thomas Chau is the Program Director for AOL Radio and oversees the 200+ music stations on the service. He also serves as the music director for the pop and dance stations. Previously Chau worked as a movie blogger. He graduated from the School of Engineering at Cornell University. Ben Xavier is a writer/producer in the marketing department at Showtime Networks where he synthesizes sound and picture to promote works like Dexter, Weeds, and Ticked Off Trannies With Knives (to name a few recent titles). He is also a contributing freelance composer for the stock music library VideoHelper. He has created musical works for hire for BET, Comedy Central, VH1, Lifetime, HBO and others. He is also a creative partner in the German concept band JA! |
